Coulter Hinks Business Breakfast
17 September
8:00am–9:30am
Leeds
Most businesses don’t struggle because they’re trying to solve the wrong problem.

The conversation
A better question over breakfast.
At this month’s Business Breakfast, we’ll explore one of the biggest frustrations facing owner-led businesses: why marketing activity doesn’t always translate into business growth.
This isn’t a workshop or a seminar. It’s a room full of ambitious founders discussing a commercially important topic over breakfast, led by the team at Coulter Hinks.
Whether you’re investing in marketing already, questioning where to spend next or simply trying to understand why growth feels harder than it should, you’ll leave with a fresh perspective and practical questions to take back into your business.
What to expect
A morning with a point.
Breakfast and coffee — Arrival and informal conversation.
Commercial discussion — Lydia Coulter and Grace Bailey-Hinks lead the session around the month’s topic.
Founder conversation — Discussion opens to the room.
Breakfast and networking — Time to continue conversations and meet other founders.
Finish
There are no sixty-second pitches, no awkward introductions and no sales presentation. Just good conversation with people building businesses like yours.
Who it’s for
Founders who want the honest version.
This breakfast is designed for owner-led businesses who are actively trying to grow. Whether you’re running a product business, service business, hospitality venue or e-commerce brand, you’ll probably recognise many of the commercial challenges being discussed. If you’re looking for a room full of founders having honest conversations about business growth rather than collecting business cards, you’ll fit right in.

Your hosts
Two perspectives. One commercially useful morning.

Lydia Coulter
Lydia spent 13 years working with some of the world’s biggest brands before founding Coulter Hinks. Working across strategy and digital marketing, she learnt that the strongest businesses don’t simply market more — they understand what they’re trying to achieve first. Today, she helps independent businesses define what makes them different, identify where growth should come from and build marketing systems that support the wider business.

Grace Bailey-Hinks
Grace specialises in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), helping businesses understand the numbers behind their decisions. Having managed finance for businesses with more than £50 million in annual turnover, she’s worked across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, commercial performance and board reporting, helping leadership teams make better commercial decisions. Grace focuses on helping businesses understand what’s likely to happen next — and what that means for pricing, investment, profitability and growth.
